Homepeel has spared no expense in sourcing its Bladderwrack. We invested a great deal of time, effort and expense in locating Bladdwerwrack that is organically produced in France.
You can be sure you are getting only the finest ingredients in every Homepeel product!
One of our biggest challenges in creating Homepeel products was finding quality herbs.
After extensive trial and error, the Homepeel team had difficulty getting the results they wanted. It seemed as though production had hit a brick wall!
But after endless research involving herbalists, scientists and potential customers, we discovered that not just any herb will do! Only the highest quality herbs can be used, and they must be carefully prepared and stored to maintain their integrity.
We had to purchase new, more expensive herbs and start our own testing all over again. But it was worth it! We discovered that the quality of the herbs make or break the effectiveness of the final product. And we are proud to offer you only the best!
Although Homepeel products contain a herb mixture containing many active substances, here is a sampling:
Horsetail: Contains flavonoids, calcium, magnesium and Vitamin C. Horsetail has excellent skin cell regeneration properties.
Marigold: Contains flavonoids, fatty acids, malic acid, Vitamins K, C, E and manganese. Marigold improves circulation and encourages lymph flow.
Ribwort: Contains amino acids, citric acid, Vitamin C, pro-Vitamin A, Vitamin K, calcium and Zinc. Ribwort is known to detoxify and regenerate skin.
Salicylic Acid is considered the #1 choice for skin peels. Not only does Salicylic Acid cause less irritation than other Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) ingredients, it is an effective anti-inflammatory.
Derived from White Willow Bark, Salicylic Acid exfoliates not only your skin’s surface, but it penetrates the pores too.
The result? Years of dry, dull skin are peeled away to reveal stunning, flawless skin.
If you suffer from sun-damaged or aged skin or if you have acne scars, a product with Salicylic Acid is the only way to go.
Homepeel products with Salicylic Acid remove the uppermost layer of skin called the stratum corneum.
The stratum corneum is made up of dead skin cells that have been compacted over time. Too many dead cells, and your skin will look dull and leathery.
Salicylic Acid is critical to accelerating the natural exfoliation process and letting you shine!
The Homepeel Marine Nourishing Cream is vital to protecting and hydrating skin cells throughout the peeling process.
And the power of the Marine Nourishing Cream is found in Haberlea Rhodopensis, otherwise known as the Resurrection Plant.
The Resurrection Plant is a fascinating species that can survive extended periods without water.
Even if it becomes completely dry, the plant "resurrects" and makes a complete recovery when watered.
How does this help your skin? The plant's cosmotropic properties have the ability to stabilize surrounding molecules and prevent cell breakdown.
After the peeling process, the Resurrection Plant found in the Maine Nourishing Cream is essential to protecting and hydrating skin.
Another excellent ingredient found in Homepeel products is Wheat Germ Oil.
This oil has a Natural Moisturizing Factor which mimics the skin's natural moisturizing.
Not only does Wheat Germ Oil provide superior, natural moisturizing, it is also high in Vitamin E.
As an oil soluble vitamin, Vitamin E is packed with antioxidants and helps maintain healthy red blood cells and circulation.
Of course, you can find many products on the market that contain a synthetic Vitamin E, but don't be fooled!
You should only be using products containing natural Vitamin E which is absorbed twice as fast and provides superior results.
That's why Homepeel uses quality Wheat Germ Oil, an excellent source of natural Vitamin E.
In addition to Vitamin E, Wheat Germ Oil can reduce collagenase.
Collagen is what gives your skin smooth, youthful look. Collagenase is an enzyme that attacks your collagen.
Wheat Germ Oil is your first line of defense against this beauty-stealer!
Rose Hip Oil is popular in many natural remedies – and for good reason! Rich in Vitamin C and an Essential Fatty Acid, Rose Hip Oil works overtime preventing skin tissue damage.
One of its most outstanding features is Rose Hip Oils ability to produce the benefits of tretinoin without any of the negative side effects. Just what is tretinoin, you ask?
Well, tretinoin is probably best known as part of Retin-A, that anti-aging miracle!
Retin-A was first used to treat acne. But it was later discovered that fine lines and wrinkles seemed to disappear with its use.
Now you'll find Retin-A in almost all the anti-aging beauty products on the market.
But don't run out to buy Retin-A products just yet! While the tretinoin in Retin-A many reduce wrinkles, it also makes your skin extremely photo-sensitive.
So no more long days by the pool or at the beach if you use Retin-A!
But Rose Hip Oil contains a form of tretinoin known as trans-retroinic acid.
This compound mimics the same benefits of Retin-A while allowing you to still go out and enjoy the sun. And if that weren't enough, Rose Hip Oil is also an excellent source of Vitamin E.
Our beauticians recommend that until a safe alternative to Retin-A is discovered you should stick to products that contain Rose Hip Oil.
In the meantime, the Homepeel team is working with researchers and scientists to develop a safe skin cream similar to Retin-A.
Ginkgo Biloba is another famous herb that has certainly earned its reputation. These are just a few of Ginkgo Biloba's benefits:
We've all heard that carrots are great for your eyes, but did you know that they can help your skin too?
Carrot oil is an abundant source of Vitamin A and carotenoids.
Carotenoids are also found in the preparation of Retin-A.
For more discussion on Retin-A, see the ingredient description of Rose Hip Oil.
By using products with Carrot Oil, you can be assured that your body is receiving highly effective antioxidants as well as large amounts of vitamins and minerals.
Aloe Vera is prized for its moisturizing properties.
Derived from the inner portion of the plant leaves, Aloe Vera contains a jaw-dropping 75 nutrients with 200 active compounds, 18 amino acids and 12 vitamins. Wow!
It also contains polysaccharides which are core to Aloe Vera's moisturizing ability.
In addition, Aloe Vera can interfere with the enzyme that produces melanin so it is helpful in preventing sun spots or other pigmentation.
Homepeel uses only the highest quality Aloe Vera in its products.
Our products contain only certified organic, spray dried dehydrated aloe from Mexico.
The dehydration helps ensure the Aloe Vera's quality and prevents it from oxidising.
Many of the world's finest beauty products contain Shea Butter, and Homepeel is no exception.
Shea Butter is oil extracted from the fruit of the Shea tree.
It is packed with fatty acids and tocopherols, a type of Vitamin E, which promote skin renewal.
Shea Butter is renowned as a moisturising and an emollient.
Try a product containing Shea Butter, and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
Don't let the name fool you – Jojoba Oil is really a liquid wax. And an amazing one at that!
Jojoba Oil is similar to our own sebum, which is our skin's natural oil.
This means that Jojoba Oil is a fantastic natural moisturiser; it does not clog pores and keeps our skin balanced.
In addition, Jojoba Oil is a very stable substance.
It does not deteriorate easily and can prolong a product's shelf life.
